Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands

This was our second stay at the Radisson Blu Golden Sands, and unfortunately also the second time our confirmed room was suddenly “not available” upon arrival. We had explicitly booked and paid for a suite with sea view. Instead, we were “upgraded” to a Premium Suite with land view – completely missing the one feature that mattered to us. We spent almost an hour discussing this with management and were repeatedly told that there was simply no sea-view room available. We were offered dinner and discounts, neither of which interested us – we simply wanted what we had booked and what the hotel had confirmed. Eventually, we contacted another hotel, found a sea-view room and informed the manager that we would leave. Suddenly, a sea-view room at the Radisson became available after all. That was incredibly frustrating and not the level of service I expect from a five-star hotel. The second major disappointment is the “private beach”. The hotel section is covered in stones, seaweed and debris to the point where getting into the water is genuinely unpleasant. Meanwhile, just a short walk away, the public section has beautiful clean sand and a much better entrance into the sea. The photos speak for themselves. To be fair, the hotel itself is exceptionally clean, the rooms are beautiful and the coffee at breakfast is fantastic. But after two stays and two issues with confirmed rooms, combined with the condition of the private beach, we unfortunately won’t be returning.

We were looking for a relaxing stay near the beach with a bit of sun and we found it. The hotel has the perfect location - the beach just a few steps from the hotel. The hotel itself is showing its age, could do with refurbishment and modernisation. The service we received from front desk, to the restaurants Mokka Lounge, Flavours (breakfast) and Agliolio was excellent. They were attentive and professional. Henri, whom we met a few times for breakfast made us and all the other guests feel welcome. He was friendly and his stories were funny - a great way to start the day. Mavic and Joy were also friendly & made our breakfast more enjoyable. We enjoyed the facilities in the hotel including the indoor and outdoor pool. The spa was also very relaxing. Having the restaurants within the hotel is very convenient for guests. We came during off peak season but I can see how busy it can be during the summer months. Would recommend for proximity to the beach - sunsets are unreal, for families and anyone who’s looking for a quieter location in Malta.

Das Hotel an sich ist in Ordnung, aber die Lautstärke am Abend ist einfach unerträglich. An Schlafen ist vor 22:30 Uhr nicht zu denken. Ich habe so etwas noch in keinem Hotel erlebt und gerade in einem 5-Sterne-Hotel erst recht nicht erwartet. Wer sich abends erholen und schlafen möchte, ist hier meiner Meinung nach völlig falsch. Für mich steht fest: Dieses Hotel werde ich nie wieder buchen.

Booked a suite, and was pleasantly surprised how big it was. Had a master bedroom, then an open lounge with open plan kitchen. At first we were wondering why there even was a kitchen with the hotel having plenty of on-site restaurants. Turns out there's a small deli mini market within the hotel where you can buy food and goceries so can cook your own food. The room had two balconies, one long main one and then a side balcony. Both with incredible views. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel facilities are exceptional and absolutely terrific service levels. The hotel ambassadors are more than helpful and provide a phenomenal service experience. There are fantastic restaurants and includes a world class Indian restaurant. The amenities and location provide everything that you need. Rooms are clean, well designed and beautifully serviced. All in all, a great experience and we shall definitely return. Thank You!

Great stay overall! The hotel has its own private beach area with sun loungers, which was a big plus. The restaurants were very good, especially the beach restaurant – great atmosphere and a tasty menu. Breakfast was good too: nothing particularly luxurious, but everything you need was available. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that the standard rooms could use some renovation and feel a bit dated. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel
