We spent 6 very happy nights at the AX Victoria in Feb '26. Our room was lovely, everywhere was clean and tidy and the staff were very nice and friendly. The pools, sauna, steam room and gym were great. Breakfast was very tasty with a wide selection too. The hotel's location is within easy access of Sliema waterfront, Valletta and St Julien's and getting around the island on the bus and ferries was easy enough too. Thank you so much, we'll be back again!

Absolutely beautiful hotel, rooftop pool/bar/restaurant was lovely. We got an upgrade to our room which was a super surprise. All the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was super and had lots of both "normal" selection of hot and cold foods, but also some more unique things to try too. Location was perfect too, very easy for Ubers, and also adventuring around the place. Quiet street even though next to hospital, it was never even one bit loud. Incredibly comfortable bed too, will be emailing to ask for mattress details :'D Would definitely stay again!

Only few positives +Clean and comfortable rooms. +Helpful staffs and cleaning staffs were nice. +Good location +Good breakfast Still not worth for the money being a basic hotel with limited amenities. - We stayed for 10 nights and the booking included spa access but the hotel did not had any spa access, since they were renovating. This was quite much of disappointment, felt cheated while booking when they offered that. Just remove the option when you do not have the facility. -The roof top pool was excessively crowded with almost no sun beds available. - And there was many times drilling noise in the room, could have been nice to stay in lower floors to avoid those noise.

Extremely Disappointing Stay I cannot recommend this hotel while renovations are taking place. During my entire stay, there was constant construction and heavy drilling directly above my room starting around 9:00 AM every morning, including Saturday. The noise was so loud that it was impossible to relax, work, or even remain in the room. I often had to leave the hotel because the room was simply unusable during the day. What is most disappointing is that nowhere on the hotel's website or booking page was it disclosed that major renovation work was taking place directly above occupied guest rooms. Had I known this before booking, I would have chosen another hotel. The hotel later claimed they offered me another room, but this only happened on the last day of my stay, after I had already spent several days dealing with the disruption and had completely unpacked. I was contacted while I was away from the hotel, so I couldn't discuss the situation in person. Offering a room change at the end of the stay did not make up for the days of excessive noise. Instead of acknowledging how severely the construction impacted my stay, the hotel minimized the issue. Guests should be informed in advance if they are booking a room directly beneath active construction. Transparency is the least travelers deserve. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to confirm whether renovations are still ongoing before booking.

I've spent a wonderful week at the AX The Victoria Hotel. It's not the most modern of hotels I've stayed at, with the hallways and rooms looking rather dark, due to the sombre (brown) decor. Notwithstanding the dour décor, the hotel makes up with it's great amenities, friendly staff and choice of cuisine. With regards to the cuisine, there's a great choice at breakfast and there are a number of restaurants on site and shared with the sister Palace hotel, that offer a wide variety of worldy tastes, including cultural food nights, e.g. Malta night, for a set fee. We did the Maltese night and found the food varied, tasty and abundant. My only criticism of the hotel is there's no dress code enforced at the evening meal events. In my case at the Maltese food night, which took place in the adjoining Palace Hotel, there was a group of individuals on the table beside us wearing their football tops and shorts. For dinner, in a lovely setting, to see individuals walking around in football tops was very disappointing. I believe for these types of events smart/casual should be enforced by the management. That's my only criticism of a wonderful hotel. PS. The view from the rooftop pool across to Valletta is amazing and something I'll always treasure. Last minute update: I was very disappointed that the breakfast I had ordered for my family and I, for our early morning journey to the airport, was not ready for my departure, even though I'd given reception 2 days notice.

¡Hotel genial con una ubicación inmejorable! Solo un detalle de recomendación a tener en cuenta para futuros viajeros. Nos hospedamos aquí tres noches a principios de julio de 2026 y la experiencia general fue fantástica. El hotel está a solo 5 minutos andando del paseo marítimo y de las piscinas naturales que se encuentran en el paseo marítimo también. En los alrededores hay varios supermercados ( y también en la misma calle una tienda que abre 24/7) . El hotel cuenta con dos bonitas piscinas en la parte superior que son una maravilla con el servicio de toallas y hamacas incluido. El trato del personal fue excelente, el buffet del desayuno increíble por lo que recomiendo que lo incluyan en su reserva y el servicio de limpieza de las habitaciones es un 10 de 10. Además, ofrecen parking por 5 € al día, algo que facilita la vida porque aparcar en la zona es complicado. El único "pero" que le pongo a este hotel fue en relación a nuestra experiencia con las habitaciones con balcón. Viendo las fotos del hotel que se ofrecen en su página, reservamos dos "Balcony Room" al mismo precio: una daba a la calle principal con vistas muy bonitas, tal y como se ve en las fotos promocionales, pero la otra nos tocó en un segundo piso orientada hacia el callejón trasero de carga y descarga, con unas vistas para nada esperables en la reserva y con la parte trasera de un bloque de edificios a pocos metros de la pared del hotel . Al llegar a las 2:00 de la madrugada, no tuve energía para bajar a recepción a reclamar un cambio de habitación, pero la diferencia en cuanto a las visitas entre una habitación y otra es notable ( he añadido fotos para que vean la diferencia de las vistas entre las dos habitaciones) . Consejo para futuros huéspedes que no quieran tener esa experiencia y para que la estancia sea perfecta de verdad, especifiquen en los comentarios de su reserva que no desean habitaciones con vistas traseras. ¡Muy recomendado! Por lo demás es un hotel 10/10 donde yo volvería sin ninguna duda.
