I had a wonderful 4-night stay here with my family in early January. The views were incredible, and the room was spacious. The balcony was my favorite spot, offering a beautiful view of the turquoise sea. Breakfast was great, and the welcome we received was superb. We also booked a day tour through the hotel. They arranged airport pick-up and drop-off as well (for a fee), which made everything very convenient.

I would give this place 0 stars if i could . The rooms were alright but what was terrible was the reception and the staff’s service. We had tours booked early morning on the two days of our stay and they made such a fuss about packing away our PAID breakfast for the trip on both days. Wanted to see sunset on the beach across but they did not allow to open up the readily available lounge chairs telling is no usage after sunset despite the fact that we could be easily fold it to be kept away. Turned out they had some tables set out for dinner at the same beach. Also a glass bottle fell and broke from the faulty fridge door. We had informed the reception earlier about it. Reception initially wanted to charge but did not after mentioning the reason. After checkout though, another receptionist on duty chased us all the way into our departing boat demanding 5 pathetic dollars for the bottle blackmailing the boat won’t move if we did not go to the reception and pay up. It was one minute left for departure. He mentioned nothing of it as we were checked out earlier and left upstairs to cater to another customer when we needed buggy services to get to the pier. They did NOT even provide any buggy services to and from the pier though we were carrying some heavy luggages. This is the crappiest stay in Maldives so far. We had previously stayed in a relatively cheaper guesthouse in Dharavandhoo and this so called resort’s service is nothing compared to the hospitality we had received over there. This resort and its poor service is the only negative take away from our entire stay on the island.

I stayed at Kanni Hotel. The room was nice and the view was very beautiful. However, I had a bad experience. When housekeeping cleaned my room, my Lacoste perfume went missing. The last time I used it was in room 308 on the first day. I’m sure I left it there, and on the second day I had already checked all my belongings and nothing was left behind. When I got home, I checked all my luggage and bags, and the perfume was not there. I contacted the hotel starting from April 18, but for one week I received no response at all. Very poor service and very disappointing. It seems there may be an dishonest housekeeping staff.

I had a really lovely stay at Kaani Grand Seaview. The hotel has a beautiful location near the beach, the room was comfortable and clean, and the food was really good. What made my stay special was the amazing hospitality from the staff. A special thank you to Asim, Rajiv, Lokish, Lekhmi and suman for their kindness, friendly attitude, and for always making sure we were comfortable and happy. The water activities were also amazing and well organized. We really enjoyed the excursions, especially the whale shark trip, which was the highlight of our stay. We also spent one day at the resort, and everything was perfectly arranged from start to finish, making it a relaxing and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Kaani Grand Seaview for anyone visiting Maafushi, and I would definitely come back again.

I booked a half‑board plan at Kaani Grand Seaview after checking their website, which mentioned the Indian restaurant Aveli. As we are vegetarians, this seemed perfect. Before booking, I even confirmed with the hotel whether my child was included. They replied that the booking was for 2 adults only, and I would need to pay USD 20 for a child bed plus USD 12 per person in taxes. However, upon arrival, the hotel demanded an additional USD 20 for my child’s dinner — something never mentioned in their emails. Dinner was then arranged at Kaani Palm Beach, but there were no Indian vegetarian options at all. We requested either basic vegetarian food or a refund for the dinner, but the staff was completely unsupportive and did not comply. The next morning, breakfast was served at Aveli. Again, vegetarian options were extremely limited. The restaurant staff told us that if they are informed a night earlier, they can prepare vegetarian dishes. Shockingly, the front desk staff already knew this from the previous night but failed to inform the restaurant, leaving us with just tea and coffee for breakfast. In short, we paid for half‑board but effectively had no dinner and no proper breakfast. On top of that, the cost was exorbitant — around USD 190 for a night — while the room itself was so basic it wasn’t worth even USD 20. Final Verdict: This was a nightmare stay with poor service, misleading communication, and unjustified pricing. I strongly advise travelers to avoid this property if they want a comfortable and reliable experience in the Maldives.

We stayed in Kaani Grand Sea View Hotel for 4 days in May last week. The hotel is very located on the beach with easy access to all the restaurants, day excursion companies and dive tour operators. It is also nearby to the water sports center on the island. I would say it is at the best location on the island. Rooms and clean and spacious and directly facing the ocean. Sea view balconies on higher floors offer best views of sunset on the island. Breakfast is decent with required variety. Being a vegetarian they did prepared veg dishes for us, although have to inform them in advance. They have an Indian restaurant Aveli which serves both veg and non-vegetarian items on the menu. Through out our stay we had dinner at this restaurant only. Three girls were very warm, friendly and polite. Overall, very satisfied with the services and room. I will definitely recommend.
