My experience at this hotel was unfortunately far below my expectations. Every morning at around 6:00 a.m., I was woken up by loud roosters crowing around the hotel. Because of this, when breakfast started at 7:30 a.m., I only went to the restaurant to have a cup of coffee. Since I cannot eat immediately after waking up, I returned around 9:30 a.m. to have my actual breakfast. However, I was confronted by the receptionist, Subiha, for entering the breakfast area twice. Being woken up early by the roosters was completely beyond my control, so I found this treatment unfair and unnecessary. There were also serious hygiene issues. I found insects in my room and I have photos as evidence. In addition, the hotel had a severe mosquito problem. Throughout my stay, I was constantly bitten, and my body ended up covered in mosquito bites. Another issue was the hotel’s water policy. Only one 1-liter bottle of water was provided per day. Considering the hot weather, this was simply not enough. When I politely asked for additional water, Subiha responded in a very rude manner, saying, “We already put water in your room. How much more water do you want?” The hotel has two different beaches. The beach with umbrellas was extremely wavy, so we preferred to use the other one. However, the sun loungers there were very uncomfortable, so we simply asked for a cushion. Instead of helping us, the staff told us to walk approximately 400 meters to the other beach and carry the cushion ourselves. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Guests should not be expected to do the staff’s job. I even had to ask, “Are you serious? Is this a joke?” and remind them that I was a paying guest, not an employee Overall, we never felt welcomed or valued during our stay. The staff’s attitude, the hygiene problems, and the poor level of service completely ruined our experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Our stay had both positive and disappointing aspects. What we liked: We appreciated being warmly welcomed and transferred to the island by speedboat. The staff were polite and generally helpful, and there was even a Russian-speaking employee, which was convenient. We were especially grateful for the early check-in free of charge, as it was very helpful after a long journey. The food was excellent and varied. Even a picky eater can find many delicious options every day. We also enjoyed the wildlife on the island: geckos, herons, parrots, and even small reef sharks near the shore. The room had some useful details, such as a drying rack for clothes, and both the room and restaurant provided complimentary umbrellas, which was helpful during the rainy season. What we did not like: At check-in, we were told that our stay included three complimentary one-hour activities: kayaking, sailing, and SUP boarding. However, later the marine service staff explained that kayaking was only allowed in the open ocean, not near the shore, and if assistance or an instructor was needed, activities would become chargeable. When we asked for clarification, we received inconsistent information. If there are restrictions or additional conditions, they should be explained clearly in advance. The room had a strong sewage smell, and soundproofing was poor — we could hear outside noise. There was a rooster near our room crowing loudly every morning from around 4 a.m every few minutes, which made it impossible to sleep. Housekeeping felt inconsistent: sometimes cleaning was partially done in the morning and partially in the evening. There was only soap, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom, nothing else. Towels were not always replaced, and one mug in the room appeared to have been left dirty by previous guests. Also clothes took several days to dry. Unfortunately, we found a large cockroach in our room, which was really disgusting and made us feel uncomfortable. The biggest disappointment was the beach. During our stay, there were strong waves, many rocks and corals underfoot, and the water was not always clear, making swimming uncomfortable. There's no swimming pool here. It is also worth noting that many activities require additional payment, and evenings on the island felt very quiet and dark, so guests looking for entertainment may find the resort somewhat boring.

I recently stayed at Malahini Kuda Bandos with my husband on a weekend full-board package, and overall, we had a very pleasant experience. One of the highlights was the complimentary speedboat transfer, which made the journey convenient and hassle-free. The resort offers excellent value for the price paid. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, and the overall service was good. The only downside was the check-in process, which took longer than expected and could definitely be improved. Aside from that, everything else was smooth and enjoyable. Our full-board package included breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the food quality was good and up to standard. There was a decent variety, and we were satisfied with the meals provided during our stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. However, some basic amenities such as dental kits and shower caps were not initially included in the room. That said, when we requested toothbrushes, the staff provided them complimentary, which we appreciated. The resort itself has a beautiful beach and a lovely house reef, making it a great place for relaxation and marine activities. I especially enjoyed snorkeling there, as the reef life was vibrant and enjoyable to explore. Overall, it was a lovely and relaxing stay, and I would recommend this resort to travelers looking for a reasonably priced island getaway in the Maldives.

We stayed at Malahini Kuda Bandos in a Sunrise Pool Villa for our honeymoon and overall had a really enjoyable stay, although there are a few things worth knowing before booking, especially considering the price. One frustration came before we had even arrived. Booking.com advertised the speedboat transfer as $50 per person return, but on arrival we were told this was actually $50 per person each way, making it $100 return. This was the resort’s normal advertised price, but the wording during booking was misleading and meant the transfer cost double what we expected. The island itself is genuinely beautiful and exactly what you picture when you think of the Maldives. Our villa looked just like the photos, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and having decking leading directly into the ocean was probably our favourite part of the stay. The outdoor bathroom took a little getting used to, but housekeeping kept it extremely clean and largely bug-free. The pool was lovely, although smaller than expected and not entirely private as people regularly walk along the beach directly in front of the villas. The jacuzzi was also the same temperature as the pool rather than heated, and the air conditioning struggled to keep the room properly cool at times. As we were staying for seven nights or more, the resort included a complimentary breakfast on our decking one morning, which was a really nice touch. Food was mixed. The Mexican, Asian and Maldivian themed dinners were very good, but the other evenings felt fairly similar and became repetitive. Lunch was the weakest meal, with largely the same options each day. We were on the All Inclusive package but, as we don’t drink alcohol, we didn’t feel it offered particularly good value. It did include one hour of complimentary non-motorised water sports per day, including kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, although this was often restricted to a window of around 2pm to 4pm, which made it less flexible than expected. The restaurant staff were easily one of the highlights. They were friendly, attentive and extremely accommodating with allergies, with food clearly labelled and custom requests handled without any issue. We were also assigned a personal concierge who was responsive on our first day but became fairly quiet afterwards, so the service didn’t add much to our stay. Many of the paid extras, particularly water sports, excursions and à la carte dining, also felt expensive, although this is partly unavoidable when staying on a private island with only one provider. Mosquitoes were another significant downside. Despite being told the island is fumigated and regularly using strong repellent, we still woke up with new bites most days and were bitten throughout the daytime as well. The island is also very small, around 1.5km in circumference, with relatively little entertainment outside of the paid activities. This is perfect if you mainly want to relax, swim and enjoy the beach, but those looking for lots to do may find it limited. Overall, the natural setting is incredible, the restaurant staff were superb and we still came away having had a lovely honeymoon. However, at almost £400 per night, the resort itself felt more like a good-value family resort than the premium honeymoon experience we expected. If the difference in price isn’t substantial, I would personally consider spending a little more for one of the more luxurious resorts in the Maldives.

I had an amazing experience at this place. We were there as a family of 5 and although we booked for four of us, they were really accommodating and they let us stay without any extra charges for our two infants and 5 year old. The food at the buffet restaurant was lovely and fresh, the staff member I remember is Swati who took the time to make conversation with us and my children. The resort itself was beautiful, very natural with chickens, parrots, lizards, crabs and we even saw a baby lemon shark! The children loved this experience and I’m so glad we chose it. The dolphin excursion was great too we saw a family of dolphins and it was only a 15 minute speed boat ride from the resort. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience a natural island. Thank you so much for the great experience and we would definitely visit again.

A stunning paradise with incredible marine life! Malahini Kuda Bandos is a truly beautiful island in the Maldives that feels like a slice of paradise. If you are looking for a tropical getaway with gorgeous natural views, this place hits almost all the right notes! The Island & Vibe: The island itself is absolutely gorgeous and covered in lush greenery. The weather was amazing throughout our stay, and there are plenty of incredible, relaxing spots right on the beach to just sit back, unwind, and take in the view. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle. Rooms & Food: I was highly impressed with the accommodations and dining. The hotel rooms are amazing—clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The food was equally fantastic, offering great variety and wonderful flavors. Area for Improvement: The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. While the staff is very friendly and hospitable, the service itself can definitely be improved to be more prompt and attentive. Overall, it is a must-visit place! Despite the minor service hiccups, the stunning beaches, vibrant sea life, great food, and relaxing atmosphere make it completely worth it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Maldives!
